STOP!! Dont use E-Z strip it is a stripper and it will remove finish. Even some things considered safe like Oops! may blemish the finish. You dont need to spend that kind of money or time anyway. dont use any thing abrasive= no steel wool, sand paper, or ?? Peanut butter is not a bad idea. Oils will do it with patience.

I've always used peanut butter. Just rub a little on, wait a little while, and the oil from the peanut butter will disolve the adhesive. Just don't eat the table! If it doesn't work the first time, try it again. Sometimes it takes more than once. Since the peanut butter is oil based, it shouldn't hurt the wood.

Goo Gone will work the best. Some of the finish on the wood may come off, the topcoat(polyurethane, etc). Depending on what finish is on the wood, just put some polyurethane on a cotton sock and rub it in gently to bring back the luster.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/a0zKy
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

I've had this same problem and I used lighter fluid. Just soak it and either peel it off or rub it off with a cloth. The lighter doesn't seem to hurt the wood.

do not put nothing on it, take a wet cloth and an iron put the cloth over the tape and just iron it. the tape will soften up and you just scrape it off with your finger nail it will take a little while, but do no mess it up putting oils on the wood it will spot it.
