I disagree, fear stupidity, fear hatred, but the thing I think most people fear is the lack of contol of a situation. that is truly something worth fearing.

Strange that such a small word can mean so much.
We need fear for our survival, it can give us that adrenaline rush, to save our lives, and move that quicker out of harms way.
But if the fear is too great, it can paralyze a person, so like most things, it has it's good points and bad points.
The right amount of fear, can make you aware of your surroundings, where as too much, will root you to the spot.
That's why Politicians like the President, use it so much in their speeches. So that you will be afraid and be unable to make a change that can be for the best.
Don't let fear, turn you into a deer in the headlights.
It's surprising, that once you face your fears, the reality is never as bad as you feared.

I agree. The expression means that fear is just all we fear and stuff like heights is just a medium for our fear. To conquer ones fear of something, one has to not conquer the medium but conquer fear on that subject itself.

Yes I agree because the only thing that keeps us from being infinitely powerful is believing we have limits. Our fears make us believe things aren't possible. We buy into that and accept that things are a certain way. If you conquer the fear, you can change your whole way of thinking and attract good things.

Fear is one of the root motivators of human behavior.

All you have to do is some serious research on this topic to discover the truth of it.

I grew up fearing! I hated it.

But time is the great equalizer. I am fearless now. I am also almost as old as Methuselah.

Perhaps time is what is required to become fearless.

Wishing you well!
