Is it wrong for a sixteen year old to go trick or treating? I know i look young for a sixteen year old, but i'm a tad on the tall side for a girl. But would you refuse to give candy to a polite teenager who's dressed in a costume, and only takes one or two pieces of candy? I would really like to go trick or treating with my friend, but i can't decide, and it's not like i have any thing else i can do for halloween, cuz i've never gone to a party before, and have no interest in parties what-so-ever. I love candy and halloween is one of my favorite holidays, but I just can't decide. What do you think?

I'd rather see a sixteen year old going around for candy than going around getting in trouble like so many do on halloween, and yes I would and indeed have given out candy to older teens, some of which looked much older than 16. Might as well enjoy these small pleasures while you can, because once you grow up and move on, there is no going back. Have fun!

The town that i live in has an age limit of 12 for trick or treaters. It is aganist the law to wear a mask if you are over 12 and you can't trick or treat past 9:00 pm. If you are going to a private halloween party then i see no reason that you can't wear whatever you want and maby you can get some candy there.

I'll tell ya somethin, my parents dressed in Halloween costumes every year and threw parties way up until their thirties. I am 28 and I dress up and throw parties also. Halloween is all about having fun. It's no different than coloring eggs on easter or going to an egg hunt. Trick or treat all you want. Its not just about the candy, its being creative, safe, and having a good time. All the best to you!!!

I think it's a little weird when people your age show up at my door to trick or treat on Halloween. I always give them candy, though
If you escort some younger kids, maybe a sister or brother or whatever, that would not look as strange. It provides a reason for you to be trick or treating at your age.
If you do it, I hope you have a lot of fun. Sorry if it sounds mean to say I think it looks weird when older teens trick or treat. It's just the way I see it. (And I'd give you candy if you came to my door!)
Anyway, m aybe you don't care what other people think, and that's good.

I would never not give someone trick or treating candy, no matter what their age is. If anyone says anything about your age, tell them that you enjoy trick or treating and you aren't out causing trouble--just enjoying dressing up and being able to be young and have fun.

Some Halloween grinches are miserable about giving candy to older kids but I say go for it. You're only young once.

I think 16 is too old to go trick or treating, however, if you came to my door I would give you candy anyway.

Whether you're 6, 16, or 26 you can (in my opinion) still participate in Halloween. However if you're 96, with no teeth, a bathrobe on, and sitting in a hoveround, I'd say you 've gone overboard....just a tad.

You're still a kid, go for it, have fun, that's the whole point of Halloween. I'd certainly give you candy. Smile and be enthusiastic and people will love it.
