I love netflix. They get movies to you fast, they have a great selection and if there is a problem they are quick to fix it. I have been a member for over two years now and I have only received one dvd that was broken, i had a new one within two days. I haven't used Blockbuster online, but I am sure it is about the same.

I used the free trial of Netflix and only received 2 DVDs in that entire time. It seem to take forever to get my DVDs. I went over to Blockbuster Online in August, and I love it. The DVDs arrive sooo much quicker for me. Plus I get the 4 free in-store rentals a month. Right now I have a lot of newer releases on my "Q" and most of them do say "short wait" though. So I am going with some DVDs that have been out for a few months before I get the ones that were just released last week. And even though I have the 3-DVDs-out-at-a-time plan, a few times that have sent me 4 or 5 DVDs at a time. I don't know if it was a glich or what, but I'll take them! All in all, I am very happy with Blockbuster.

Even though it cost more, I prefer Blockbuster online because they had a better selection, the movies came at a good rate, and you could also rent games. I tried Netflix for about a month, but it seemed to take forever for the movies to come.

I prefer Netflix. Both "throttle" - i.e., send out new DVDs slower when you start renting too many in one month's time - and sometimes send items out of order in your queue - but Netflix has a better selection. The recommendations could be better. I also put a bit more credence in the feedback in Netflix since there's a larger base of subscribers and you have a more representative sample of feedback on any given movie. Both are affordable. I like Netflix's interface, and have had very few problems with scratched or damaged discs. So I prefer Netflix.

Blockbuster might be better if you live close by a store and can take advantage of the extra rentals.
