The rule of thumb is pay what the tax man allows you to deduct for mileage at tax time. It is a good place to start. You can deduct the mileage you pay your employee from your income lowering your income and thous pay less taxes. Your accountant should be able to tell you what you should be paying for mileage. If you don't use one you can call one and they should be able to tell you with out charge...
