44 and still going strong.... but then I'm out with my kids so I guess it doesn't count.
If you are a high school kid and dress up good, and go to peoples houses that you know, everyone will be cool with it. I am not crazy at all about the kids who don't dress up or put their shirt on backwards and shove a pillowcase at you to fill up.
On an interesting side note, our homeowners association is encouraging teenagers to trick or treat in the neighborhood this year.... better to have them here then somewhere we don't know I suppose.

When you don't care anymore... I know college students who still trick-or-treat! I mean, you can do it as long as you think it's fun or you want to. I personally stopped one or two years ago because I didn't care much to go house to house asking for candy. However, if you do it with friends, it's a lot more fun. In fact, my friend just told me she goes trick-or-treating every year (she's a junior in high school). Last year, she didn't even dress up... she just scribbled "My dog ate my costume" on a piece of paper and attached it to her chest! My other friend poked holes in a brown paper bag and put it over her head... it was hella funny. We're really in it just for the free candy!! I emphasize the *FREE* CANDY!

I'm 23 and still trick or treat. I take my nieces and nephews with me, but I still carry around a pillowcase for my own candy, or the little box for Unicef. I plan to keep trick or treating for a while longer. Maybe when I get married, I'll stop. . . who knows?

When you stop dressing up.
I trick or treated through college. Of course, I dressed up. I'll give candy to a 78 year old if they're in costume.
I won't give candy to kids who don't dress up. Since when is a torn t-shirt a costume???
I'm the grinch who stole halloween from all the lazy teens who couldn't bother. :-)
My four month old is going trick or treating. Oh, what shall we do with all that candy that she can't eat? Hmmm....

A bit into adulthood...around college student age. You shouldn't be ashamed. Just have fun with it, and make sure you dress up.
I personally hate trick or treating and stopped somewhere in the single digits.

I went trick or treating all through high school... and everyone else did too. Nothing wrong with it... those people still end up with extra candy at the end of the night... lol

Umm...most communities have "cut-offs". In most communities, if is 14 years old. If you are doing for UNICEF, it doesn't matter. I always go with my nephew, who is 8. This year I am 14, so it will be the last year I'm "allowed" to go. However, next year, I'll be "taking him trick-or-treating". And...*sighs*..if I must...dress up too! *giggles*
Happy Halloween!
