I have neighbours who smoke outside their house and the smell gets into my house and it's awful, but they have the right to smoke on their property and so do you. When the council had workmen here putting in double glazing they all smoked outside and left cigarette ends and empty packets in the garden.
Are the council going to be at your house so long that you can't wait for a cigarette? Not that you should have to wait.

that's ridiculous! I am a smoker and I know that smoking in the house is not good when you live with a non-smoker, the smell of stale smoke is horrible.
If I smoke I tend to try and go to an outside area, this crackdown on smoking is getting too pc and extremely petty. If it is in a well-ventilated outside area, then so be it.

Beavers have fairly sharp front incisors, tooth which proceed to boost and enable them to fell extremely substantial tree branches and saplings to help build their dams. they have good claws and are supremely properly designed for swimming with a super flat paddle like tail, thick oily coat to maintain them heat and nostrils which could be closed to make a seal. Their mythical dam construction skills are inspired via the sound of working water. If beavers notice that the water tiers are falling after their dam is outfitted they're going to seek for out the reason and block it with greater wood, dirt and flora. human beings used to think of this became a uniquely smart act yet experiments with the tape recorded sound of working water in a dry field have brought about beavers to objective and create a dam on suitable of the tape recorder. A below useful reaction

As far as I am aware there is no law saying that you cannot smoke inside or outside your home, so they have no right to ask you to stop. the only way they may have any clout is if whilst smoking you are being noisy and disturbing your neighbours!

No it's getting ridiculous. If people are going to make so many laws about where smoking is not allowed, then why not just make cigarettes illegal? It's stupid that you can't even smoke in or outside of your own house.

smokers are being tormented deliberatly, thats why they dont close down the cig factories. if they did the torment would all be over in about five weeks.its like motoring, If jeremy clarckson sat next to you while you were driving and told you to get your foot down, he could be done for aiding and abetting, your car may do 120mph but its a 70mph limit.temptation, remove the temptation and live in peace.

On one level, you're just being stupid by smoking and even insisting on your right to smoke.
On another level, I support your current privilege to smoke (I'm not sure that it's a constitutional right) and to pay taxes for the priviledge of doing so.
Then, again, these workers are trapped by their responsibility to perform work in that space that you are polluting and the reasonable thing for you to do is to move downwind far enough to make them comfortable.
I wish you well in any effort you make to quit smoking. Quitting is in your best interest. Good luck when you decide to do the right thing.

Ask them to tell you which law says that you cannot smoke standing outside your own home? There isn't one.

This anti smoking scheme is going too far. Ask them to stand outside while you have your cigarette then they can re-enter when you have finished.
