I weighed 6lbs, my brother weighed 7lbs and the next weighed 8lbs! so if that's the case, my son weighed 9lbs 10oz, ahhh I'm scared what my next will weigh! Ask your doctor-mine told me they will check me at 36 weeks this time to see how big the baby is and go from there. Goodluck, and congrats!

P.S.- our baby didn't weigh close to me or my husband's weights. We were both 6lb babies! also, I was perfectly healthy throughout my pregnancy and gained as much as I should have. All the tests came back perfectly fine-they said he was just a very healthy baby,a nd prenatal vitamins these days are MUCH better than back in the day, so that could be why too.

It's possible. As a rule, if left to go to term, babies do get bigger with subsequent pregnancies.
You can talk to your OB about monitoring the baby's weight and inducing when your cervix is ready and other indicators are that the baby is mature enough. You might want to do this particularly if you ended up with a C- section, had a long labor, had forceps or vacuum used or pushed more than an hour or two.
I'm not one to advocate inducing labor for frivolous reasons, but there are medical indicators.
Have a happy pregnancy and an easy delivery!!

Usually your first is the smallest, but sometimes not. It all just depends. There is no set rule on baby sizes and weights. Usually they say to go by what your husband weighed when he was born, and the is pretty compairable to what your kids will weigh, but that didn't work for me, so who's to say? Usually subsequent kids will weigh more then the first, sometimes by only a few ounces. Sometimes they weigh less. If you are worried about it, talk to your doctor.

I have two children and my son was born first and he weighed 9lbs 5oz and my daughter was just born in september and she only weighed 7lbs 4oz. They told me at the beginning of my second pregnancy that they were expecting the second to be at least 10+ pounds...... well they were wrong. Babies can come big and small as long as they are healthy!

I have 4 children- their weights in order of birth were 8lb2oz, 7lb6oz, 9lb8oz, 7lb5oz- so mine were all over the place. I really worried after my 3rd son that the 4th would be that big but he was the littlest. Best of Luck!!

It is usually a mix of your birth weight and the fathers... in between, but closer to the father's. However, it can be a bigger baby too, depending what you are eating.
