Do you credit technological advancements and man-created inventions to God? Should God be recognized for what humans create?

I am not religious but I had a discussion about the state of the earth once.. Wars and evils in the world etc Now my point was that if there was a god then he wouldn't allow these things to happen.. blah blah.. The religious person with whom I was speaking to said that God merely put people on this earth and it was humans that are to blame. So if this is the case then I would say No. If God is not accountable for negitive things humans do then he also can't be accountable for the positive things the human race have achieved...?? Maybe?? Who knows...

Would he get credit for the crappy inventions too? Or ones that kill people? Then we have to start getting into which inventions should be credited, and which god to credit them too, and if an atheist and a Christian and an Pastafarian create something, you have to split up the credit, and well....it's completely ridiculous. No. Besides, the church has typically fought technological advances.

Who knows, really? Let's say there is a personal God - one who cares about us, created us and so forth. First, He/She/It would not need to be credited with our little ideas - after all, THE UNIVERSE!! Second, what do we really know about how "god" operates? Maybe we're prompted into our brilliant ideas. Third, go ahead - take the credit. Do you think God's watching that closely?

Personally, I don't think so. Then again, I'm for all practical purposes atheist...(not quite, it's difficult to explain). That's just my thoughts though. If you believe that God created us, then I would say yes, because He would be the reason we think the way we do, as well as the guiding force in research and inventions etc.

God created humans and gave them the minds and body they use to invent ANYTHING, so yes, he most certainly does deserve credit.

It's possible God made the universe. Science is one of the ways (some would argue the only way) we study it. But no, God did not directly make science.

That's like saying the Tooth Fairy caused the Great Depression or Santa invented the nuclear bomb....it's just not rational.

Absolutely!! God gave man intelligence to create all things, it's up to man to use all the tools, technologies, advancements, developments, discoveries, etc., etc., wisely or not.
