The Sims 2: Building?

Question

What way would you build a house on The Sims 2? I have had the game since christmas of 2005 and I haven't even gotten to live mode because I just can't decide. Help me. I will take links and answers right here.

they are right, ur missing a lot here:)
if u wanna build a house from scratch, in the neighborhood choose to buy a land (not a house, just land) or u can put a land urself after choosing it from the menu at the bottom of the screen at the neighborhood.
enter the land, and then choose the build mode and first tool u found is the tool of building walls, u have to drag (click on ur mouse when building a wall, then leave the mouse when u finish)
but i would suggest u choose an already built house, and make some changes first, because it will be easier for u as a beginner (in building mode)

First of all....OMG, you've not tried building a house or community lot?!?! Wow, have you been missing a whole heap of FUN. Okay, I'm through with the 'rant'. LOL

You'll want to take the in-game tutorial on how to build basic foundations; stairs, walls; etc. Also note that there will be many different types of paints, wallpapers, floorings, terrains, etc.

I'll list one more advanced tutorial by "linarwing", and you can go to the TS2 website to find other tutorials that will help advance the 'style' that you like to use.

I've never built a house from scratch, but what I like to do is enlarge an existing house. I like taking small, simple houses and adding a room, a whole second floor, backyard, garage, etc. I know that a lot of the people who now build their own houses started out this way.

If you prefer to start from scratch, then build a small, one bedroom and one bath, T-shaped house. For your next house use a more complicated shape, or add an extra bedroom, etc.

First I'll need to know if you have the PS2 version or the PC version. I prefer the PC one. I have all the expansion packs too except for the most recent 2 Pets and glamor stuff. On the PC version you click on the saw and such icon to build it has the walls etc. in there. More info at http://www.thesims2.com
