chromosomes contain DNA
chromosomes are in the neucleus of the cell, the big round thingy in the middle

Sadly, I already know that. And I didn't exactly need the number of chromosomes, I knew that too.

Oh, dang, i forgot part of the question... "What is the total number of 'paired' chromosomes in a body cell called?"

A full complement of 46 chromosomes is called "diploid", and it makes up the entire "genome" of the human, and it is found in the "nucleus".

It is difficult to discern what you are searching for in the question. Hope this helps.

A normal human cell would have 46 chromosomes- you inherit 23 from your mother and 23 from your father. That means a normal sperm cell would have 23 chromosomes.

There are a total of 46 chromosomes in human cells that exist in 23 pairs. The total amount of DNA in a cell is called its "genome", as in the human genome project that determined the order of the nucleotides contained within human DNA.

I have a feeling there should be a name, but it just seems to be "the total number of chromosomes".
