Most of them have lived in the sheltered life of academia. They have not had to face the real world. Were they to get out a bit they would find that many things look good on paper but will not work under the everyday events.

Because Universities hire Socialists for Political Science and related subjects. Most academics come from sheltered and privileged families.

money can buy just about anything these days, besides acadaemics by no means measures overall intelligence just 1/4 of it " psychology 101" people will gladly give someone a degree as long as the person promises to say what the grantees want to here.
