World War II is definitely on top. Casualties were in the tens of millions if you include civilian deaths. World War I would follow easily in second place.

Look on wikipedia.

I thought the 30 years war would be higher up the list, but for sheer weight of numbers I guess it is hard to go past China. The American Civil War didn't even crack 1,000,000 (according to this list anyway) so it is well down the list.

it also depends on how far back in history you want to go and if you want to stick to wars that are factual or ancient greek possibly mythological (the Trojan war).

I didn't say out of every single war that ever took place. What I meant was did you want to go as far back as wars that we don't have concrete proof ever happened or we cannot be sure how many died.

Depends who you count as people.. If you mean Europeans, or Asians, or just who? Total "people" would be WWII.
