Just put in your install CD and reboot the computer and just follow the instructions

Unfortunately, there are so many different problems that can cause a computer to lock up. Some examples would be 'lack of memory, physical or video, viruses or other malicious scrypt, incorrect or outdated drivers that run your hardware devices. If you have windows xp

If you have your boot disk for the system your running just insert it on your cd drive and restart your pc then press delete while its booting so you can enter the system bios menu then look for boot secter and chage it to Cd A: C: then press Esc and save changes then press enter when you get a black screan and the message boot from Cd. That would start the setup on the cd and follow the steps then press F8 to agree and then look for the option install a resh copy. The it going to ask you for farmat drive press enter. And let the cd do its job

reboot the computer using the installation CD that came with the computer, if you can't find call the manufacter for the CD replacement. I rebooted mine a week ago but I am still catching grief. Plus I lost some files, so it would wise to back up your files on a disc or two.

Use the recovery CD, reboot your PC and get into setup (BIOS) and change boot sequence to boot from CD first. Then exit BIOS setup. Follow instruction on screen and format your hard drive. It can take more than 2 hours.

Try this before you erase everything...start menu, run, enter your hard drive letter ( like C or D) and then type a colon and msconfig, hit enter. uncheck everything except your antivirus to run in your computer start up menu

erasing everything is easy. Put in your recovery disks that came with your computer. Then you realize you have to reinstall all your software packages and your data files will be gone. All gone.

Use your install CD and reboot from it.

Then select "reformat drive and install OS"
