dremel and it's attachments are used for fine detailed projects, mostly woodwork. sure it can engrave- but the tool offers many more uses than just that. keep in mind it is (not a large tool) geared for detail and not a jack hammer and you will have less the chance of frying the motor. the tool over the years has been updated in terms of look and feel but over all works the same as the originals and the accesories are endless depending on the task needed to complete. hope my input helped.

Are you gluing the pages together first? If so when they are completely dry you can use a door knob cutter attached to a drill to cut a circle in the pages but be sure to use clips to hold it in place on a work surface first or it will dance around in circles. If you are cutting a square shape you can use a Exacto (razor) knife and a metal ruler to work against, just be very careful the blades are really sharp! A Dremel could be used with the cutting wheel attachments they are small flat discs that you hold sideways to cut things with but be careful they sometimes break and fly off the tool. Use eye protection with either of the power options.

The Dremel tool rotates a bit at high speed; the bit is held in a collet. Variable-speed versions may cover a range of 5,000–35,000 RPM. By inserting an appropriate bit (or burr) the tool can perform drilling, grinding, sharpening, cutting, cleaning, polishing, sanding, routing, carving and engraving. Both battery-powered and corded models are available

A Dremel tool is hand-held with a short rotating rod at the end of it. Different pieces attach to the end, to do different jobs, like cutting and sanding.

I've used it for many tasks. The dremel's use is limited by only the large array of attachments. I've used it to enlarge the hole of door strike plates, to cut screws and nails flush with the surface of something, polish my class ring, grind glazing compound off window in preparation of installing a new piece of glass and I've used it to cope (shape) small moldings for installation.
