There was a movie with Jessica Tandy and Hume Chrone(sp) but she died and came back as a dog, it was a Hallmark movie called DANCE WITH THE WHITE DOG or something very close to that. It may be available at your local hallmark store. If you watch it, have the tissues handy.

There was a James Herbert book called 'Fluke' that had a very similar plot 'a story about a man who thought he was a dog, or a dog that thought he was a man'...or something like that...hope that helps
