Why is it, after twelve years in power, the Republicans who themselves have not done better for the American people than the Democrats, are still bringing up the Democrats short comings over a decade ago?

Politics. How long have you been in this country? It has always been that way. After about 20 years both loser parties give up and try to find out which way the wind is blowing.

Yes it is whitewashing. They will do anything to divert people's attention away from their shortcomings. They'll probably blame Clinton for things that occur long after he's dead.

Bush and the Republicans got me a bigger paycheck by cutting taxes for working people.
I think it's great to get a bigger paycheck.
Democrats don't care because most of them are on welfare, and don't work.

I mean... what else can they do... ALL THE RESPONSIBILITY is CLEARLY on them... and they have failed...
the ONLY option they have left is to blame it on those that used to be in office and HOPE, BEYOND HOPE... that no one asks them why they STILL haven't fixed anything yet...

Nothing else to do. Their positions are indefensible, their logic twisted, their leaders corrupt. Pride and stupidity do funny things to people.

thats all they can do..... .they have proven they are corrupt and inept so to divert attention from their shortcomings they reach back into ancient history hoping the voters will be stupid enough to believe them....and guess what---they are......
