circuits are parallel with 5 lightbulbs: a,b,c,d and e. a and e are on the same line across, b is in the middle and c and d are on the end. if lightbulb a blows out which one(s) will keep going. some will have none at all but this is confusing me and i need help pronto! o and go to hell if u give me mean and bullshitty irrelevant answers

It sounds like A and E are in series with each other, and then in parallel with the rest of the bulbs. If this is the case, when A blows out E wouldn't come on. I would have to see the circuit to be positive though.
