If the question of gay marraige doesn't apply to you then why should you care what it's called or if it's illegal or not? Do two people that are gay and considered married have any bearing on your life?
The only persons that are against gay marraige are religious fanatics that wish to impose their religions will upon others or those who wish to discriminate or oppress a group of people they don't understand. Why shouldn't a gay couple be entitled to all the benefits of a heterosexual married couple? Better still, why should an individual be denied tax benefits, medical coverage, death benefits, and the like because they are unable to procure a marriage status?
Just because gays weren't represented during the drafting of the Constitution doesn't mean they are excluded from it!!

No I do not. The people have a governing interest in the state of marriage. The majority says gay marriage is a no-no, ergo there should be no gay marriage.
I think that one man and one woman make a baby. Marriage is the best way to achieve that. Nothing is stopping gays from going down to their church or whatever and saying that they are married. The question is rightly asked should the desire to marry of a few outweigh the governing interest of the many?
If you say yes, then go-go-go for consensual incest, polygamy, polyamoury, plural marriage, communal marriage. if you think this debate is new, you need to read your history from the 1890's. We had this debate already in this country and the monogamous breeders won.
Case closed.

No I do not support gay marriage, but the governments, States and Federal both, must come up with a means to provide equal benefits to life time partners like the benefits to heterosexual marriages.

Yes I support gay marriages 150%! I am not gay, however I feel that if two people are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together, they should not be denied that right just because their love is for someone of the same sex. If it is not affecting our lives, why should we care?

I was kinda iffy about it when I first heard of it several years ago... and then I heard a gay man talking about how much it would mean to him and his partner to be able to marry, and poignantly asked the straight community "What does it take from you?"
A light bulb went on over my head. He's right, it doesn't take anything from me. Why should I oppose something that doesn't hurt me or anyone else, but gives happiness to some?
And no one can legitimately argue religion or morality on this one - marriage is a legal right, as is freedom of/from religion, and homosexuality is not illegal in the United States. So the debate can really only be argued on legal grounds. And I can see no legal grounds to oppose it.
So, having no reason to oppose it, and being friendly to the LGBT community in general, I support it. =)

I support Civil Unions for gay people that would give them the same rights as a marriage. I do believe that marriage is for a heterosexual couple, not a homosexual couple.

No I don't support gay marriages. That's just my opinion and if those that do support it, should get it made into a law. Right now it's against the law and I support the law.

Gays should have all the rights and privileges afforded everyone else.
Why is marriage so sacred? The divorce rate in this country is quite high: 40 to 50 precent.
Why do we think heterosexuals are such great role models?
