No. They should be limited to people of a certain age though. They can give some kids nightmares.

My best friend and I watched the movie 'Scream' when I was 7, and have been a die-hard horror fans since. And as far as I know, I'm not a serial killer. Seriously though, I don't believe horror movies are that bad, or else Id be royally screwed up by now. In fact, the three signs that a child will grow up to be a serial killer are: 1. Bed-wetting 2. Abusive Families 3. Killing animals watching horror movies is not one of the signs.

Some should! Some are just SATANIC! Like Silent Hill, Saw 1, 2 and 3, I mean HONESTLY! Hostel??? I mean, are you so sick that your mind is thinking solely on decapitation and how it takes place and you just HAVE to make a movie out of it?? I mean, OMG, just seeing the commercials gives me the chills... yeah. I def think those over the top gore horror movies should be banned.

If you can name one horror movie that is actually scary, then yes, I say they should be banned or atleast the trailers for them be monitored so the little ones of the world do not get scared. Most horror films aren't that scary--I have yet to find more than two that have scared me silly.

coming from a person who hates horror movies yet watches thm anyway, the answer is "who knows?"

i seriously have a great photographic memory which means if i go out and see like "the ring" or "saw 3" or something, i will be able to see those horror images in my mind at night and scare the heck out of myself.

this issue first came up in the 1960's when the first randition of the "Excorcit" came out and did something that was so illegal: put images of man slaughter, beheadings, and canabilism at the speed of 39 mps...which the eye cannot catch at all...meaning, people would throw up in the movie theatre because their braun would catch these messages and totally freak! also people were like "why am i getting so scared" because of this.

this issue is strong now still, but horror movies base a lot of comedies and other types of movies to so i guess i say "no." just dont watch them if you don't like them...

no...people go to see them knowing that they're going to be scared. people who subject little kids to horror movies have bigger problems than what the movie is about, and banning them probably wouldn't help as they seem to enjoy psychologically scarring their children (assuming of course that the children are old enough to know what's going on) and would probably do it some other way if they don't already (unlikely)

what would be the cause for banning them? they're like other movies only rated harder because little kids would be affected more.

Yes, but lets start with all the christian movies for they are based on hate and oppression towards others who differ in their belief. Then work our way down to children's cartoons, all books and bedtime stories.

Excuse the sarcasm (no sarcasm towards christianity for that is true) but if we ban only certain things where would we stop. Leave the responsibility with the individual to choose what they wish to see.

Absolutely not. Caution should be taken though especially when children will be watching such movies. In the Philippines, such movies are rated PG (Parental Guidance) or PG 13 (Children below 13 year old cannot watch a movie without adult supervison) or R 18 (moviegoers below 18 years old cannot watch the movie), et cetera.

banned? this is america. you cant ban sh!t here, freedom of speech and expression. Some people (not me) love that stuff, so there is a money making market out there, thats why they continue to produce horror movies

No they shouldn't be. They should have warnings like they currently do. Box offices should enforce the viewing ages and parents should also be held accountable in some form.
