Today in class my friend left his Ipod on his desk and left it there for a little bit and returned only to find it gone. Someone obviously stole it.. I was wondering; what is the best way to find out who took it? It was expensive and he did not deserve that to happen to him.

It's not like he left the classroom.. he literally moved from his seat for like 30 seconds tops,came back and it was gone..

Ask the teacher if he found it, or perhaps saw somebody take it. Ask other students around you if they saw the Ipod. Look in the lost & found at the school. There's not much else you can do. You have to be realistic, though. Your friend is most likely not going to get his Ipod back. It sucks really.

Since your name is engraved on it, or your name is on the back on a label. or have them plug the ipod in the computer and see what name comes up. Go to the itunes settings, and it will bring up all the information, purchases, downloaded. Proof? Just print out a copy of all the songs on your itunes and show it to the dean, and they will force her to bring in the Ipod. This is a serious offense which means suspension immediately! Don't fool around, or wait for a long time! She knew what she was doing, you have the power to put a stop to this. Go immediately to the police at your school and they will handle it.

Do not ever allow valuables to leave your grasp! File a report with the school office describing the Ipod.

One way is if you see some in class with an iPod try and match its serial number with the one on your iPod packaging (if you still have it that is).

if the classmates are mostly friends of him, probably someone hid it for fun. If someone really stole it, that person is definitly not a popular guy. Try askin your classmates.

There is no way to find it man. There are no numbers that people check that could come up stolen or anything. Sorry man. Crappy loss

i dont think there's much you can do...put an ad in the paper??? post some flyers around school? an ipod would be very difficult to recover.
