That song only reached #21 on the charts. Metallica eats Twisted Sister alive. Metallica has had 4 albums at #1 on the charts and 3 at #2. We're Not Gonna Take It is a classic song but fades in comparison.

Since Metallica was around when this song came out, they were no where near as popular in any context. They did not achieve household status untill the late 80's and were probablly equal in terms of airplay by that time. I think Green Day's " American Idiot" album surpassed both in terms of popularity and airplay. The quality of course is debatable since most of today's music is not fit for anything more than listening to whatever everyone else is.

We're not gonna take it was a huge hit, Green Day and Metallica never saw that kind of air play.

Come on. Dee Snyder and Twisted Sister could not even touch Metallica's hits. If you do the history of Metallica, Cliff Burton and Dave Mustaine were big parts of metal history. So according to me, I would say METALLICA, mos def.
And remember kids, I WANNA ROCK...ROCK!!!

Twisted Sister - Older songs got lots more airtime & listeners. Today there is waaaaay too much variety, artists, and platforms to hear stuff. Think of TV - used to be 3 channels, now look at cable...
