The prob is too many illgal immigrants have paved their way into the system which deals with such grants
Until applicants are not vetted, the situation will remain.
My mum is severely disabled, until her health did not deterioate and she ended up in hospiatl, they refused here any grants.
Usually Asians, Eastern Europeans and Blacks from W Africa have corruped the syste,m
Am not being racist, but that is the true fact.

Obviously the Council concerned doesn't check the Property's,and takes for granted that the Forms these People fill in are bonifide.
Usually to be able to get Grants anyway the Householder has to be on Benefits !!
If it was me ,I would be contacting the Council and querying that you had the correct Name and Address for a start.and tell them about the expensive Luxury's in the Property's, and that they are not exactly destitute.
I know there are certain People that can pull the wool over the Government and Local Councils Eyes, but by reporting these People it's the only way it is going to Stop and the really deserving People will get the Grants.
Grants are awarded by the Government by the way, Local Councils have to be contacted for them.

i cant get my ead round this at all..ok i live in glasgow but when i left uni i went 150miles to a plc called campbeltown to do forrestry work cuz its only part of the year and its good money ,so everything was fine then my girlfriend became pregnant and when my daughter was born we decided to move back to the city to be near family as when we live in campbeltown we only seen them once maybe twice a year so any how we moved back to glasgow i had some money saved up so it would av lasted a good few months til i found a new job,but i found it increasingly hard to find one and after 6months i found my self on the books at the dss so anyhow one day we wer left short and had to go in and try get sum sort of loan or summin to get us past the next few days n guess what ....they said sum bs like i didnt quilify because id been signing on for only a few week (even with a child ye know) yet there was junkies n and ppl who dont care much bout life gettin money handed to em so it poses the question why do they get it only for them to sspend it on drugs withinh 1hr of gettin it but ppl/familys like me/mine get shuned more often than not? although im working now it really pis$ed me off so if i ever find my self in that situation again i think il get a few months of drug abuse in and also paint my fcuking teeth green (sorry for the swearing but the system is dumb as those fcukers who wrote the book) anyhow my theory is theres sum unwriten rule that say give the junkies cash anytime they want as if to try cut down street crime by ppl mugging/stealing for the funds for that next bag....anyone else share that veiw?

I know exactly what you mean, I work installing double glazing and 40% of the work done by the firm I work for is for the local council. [grant work] We seem to go to some properties that are obviously not council owned, but the council are paying for the work. It amazes me how they get away with it.

No, that's really sad!
I guess the people who are freezing in winter aren't aware of the help that they are entitled to.

Thats poor. I wouldn't do the work on principle.
Obviously they know how to milk the system and the poorer people do not or don't have the inclenation to.

Because the way the applications for the grants are written, you have to have a master degree to decipher them, you have to have a lot of time to dedicate to the process.
