I heard somewhere that stem cells are being taken from aborted babies umbilical cords. Horrible I hear you say and I tend to agree so I looked it up on the net and found this link. It says that you can save your babies stem cells for a future date in case your baby might need them one day. I feel that I would donate some of my babies stem cells to enable others to have a possible cure of their ails, not just keep it for myself or my baby. Would you?

When I had my newborn I had her stem cells saved by a comapny called Viacord it cost about 1500 but it was well worth it. Your baby stem cells can CURE over 40 childhood disease and I mean cancers! It doesnt hurt the baby and they are going to be thrown out anyway. Once they snip the cord from the baby tehy put a needle into the cut cord withdrawl some cells package it adn thats it. If you dont have the money to save your childs cord you can donate your cord and ti will be used for someone but if you or your child would ever need stem cells you could recieve donor cells from someone else. Look at the link below its so astouding what this one thing can do. With all the cancer that runs in my family and I saw that this cell stuff would cure a couple of the more dominant ones in our family there was no way I wasnt going to do it. There is nothing immoral about this

I worked with sick or dying kids from Cancer and other genetic problems, I feel that if there was any chance for a better treatment I would do it in a heart beat. It gets discarded anyhow why not donate it to reduce someones suffering or for future research so our aging parents suffering from Parkinson's or Alzheimer's have a better chance at a cure.
And I do not think it is limited to only the cord blood of aborted kids... you could save the cord blood of your living baby so the baby if they had any problems later in life could use the frozen stem cells. I have not looked into this yet as I have not needed to but I probably will.

I saved some of my 1st babies stem cells for the future and i am glad i did you just never know what might happen and if this can be done we should do it, as for aborted babies, it makes me sad that they are giving someone a chance in life but don't get one themselves but if even a little glimmer of good can come from killing babies then i'm glad!

Definitely- stem cell research holds the key to solving many horrible conditions.
I would have no problem with trying to help. It is very expensive to keep the stem cell blood from your baby, however.

If i could save my baby along with possibly save another i would totally do it. I really wanted to save my children's stem cells but it's pretty costly. If you can do it, that's awesome, do it.

it costs a ton of money to keep the cord blood for your own family. i looked into it. i thought about donating it but there is a lot of red tape, paperwork. i had too much other stuff going on to think about it. if people want to murder their babies, i guess some good should come from it.

I donated my baby's cord blood, and hope it will help someone in the future.. it didn't hurt me one bit. it's not like I was going to sell the stuff on ebay.
but I sure as hell wasn't going to use a private cord blood banking facility. you think i'm going to pay 2000+ dollars? HAH!
