I've watched the footage hundreds of times...he was executed. The driver even slowed down for the shooter.

Secret Service Agent Bill Greer.

It appears Greer joined the White House staff in 1944 and had been chauffeur for three presidents -- Truman, Eisenhower, and Kennedy.
