The BEST gaming system... bar NONE is the HP XW9300 that you can get at www.stupidcheapcomputers.net It costs $3,238.65 but if you use my frequent buyer code ATX926 you'll get a 10% discount and then it will run you $2960.69. It comes with Windows XP Professional Edition, an AMD Opteron 252 2.6GHz Processor 2P, 250GB SATA Hard Drive, 2GB DDR2 400 RAM, DVDRW/LightScribe Drive, and a NVIDIA Quadro FX1400 with 128MB of Video RAM. The XW9300 was designed from the ground up to be a high-end graphics performing powerhouse. Plus, all of their stuff comes with a 1 year standard warranty. Honestly, you couldn't build that system yourself for less. Go to the HP website (www.hp.com) and try to build one just like this one and it will cost more from the manufacturer.

Stupidcheapcomputers.net has a bunch of other systems that are cheaper, but you asked what was "the best gaming computer" and that is it. It's also the best price you're going to find anywhere.

I know. I own 2 of them. :D

Alienware by far is the best recognized business for making gaming computers. They are, however, EXPENSIVE regardless of if you are getting a monitor with or not. Their top of the line model can run you easily 4000-6000 plus insurance and extras. Dell's XPS is good but not the best. You can customize these a little more than the alienware ones from the factory and the price is between 2000-4000. You can build a really good gaming system for 1500-2200 but you have to be willing to build it yourself or have someone that knows about computers build it for you.
