by asking the voters in California to oppose Prop 85? How in the #ell does denying a parent their rights 'protect' a minor child? If the child is in an abusive home, they need to be removed anyway. What of the girl who experiences complications? They're rare, but they do happen. So, if your daughter were given an abortion without your knowledge or consent, and began to hemmorage--would she
A. Come to you and say she got pregnant, lied to you and had an abortion (compounding the situation) or
B. Be so afraid at this point that she may bleed to death?

And who would be liable for the death of your daughter?

NO ONE should deny a parent their rights to parent their child, unless they themselves have been found unfit--and that includes Senator Godzillary!

Luis--little girls who are being abused by their fathers, step fathers or other family members need to be removed from the home. In these cases--the child can request help from clergy, medical professionals, teachers, police etc. A child too immature to know to seek help-is not mature enough to make a decision regarding abortion. Prop 85 also allows for a judge to over-rule the parents where abuse is suspected. Your argument has not merit.

What she does know is: "Stupid is as Stupid Does" and as long as there are registered Democrats, she knows they will vote for her or, in favor of her in the vein of "Voting the Party Line"!

I think she's hooked on 85 to prove the point that her book (It Takes A Village) was really a good read. In reality most thought it was a piece of garbage. Oops!
I forgot, those die hard Democrats (citizens) that think they have to vote the party line probably liked it. They'll vote for 85 site unseen because they believe in Senator Clinton.

My.... What you fail to grasp is that children who are molested and raped by their fathers or step fathers are at risk. They may want the abortion but if they must go through the criminal that is the parent then they will not have a chance. They can report it but at thirteen did you know the proper authorities to go to? They haven't a clue.
The mothers of these children won't believe them in most cases. They often side with the boyfriend or the step father. In the case of the Father many girls are used for sex by their fathers after their mothers die. I have known one girl who went to her priest. The priest blamed the girl and she later committed suicide.
This law is the way it is because there are those parents. Most parents who are not in this category will find their daughters will come to them. A persons body is their own. This is true of all medical procedures. Parents do not own their children. They have the right to care for them but they do not own them. This shabby law keeps coming on the ballot every election supported by the Christian right. It is well meaning but it wouldn't fly in a legal challenge any way. It is void of the reason why the law exists as it is. By the way if you want your child's tonsils out and they don't their not coming out. But if it was an absolute danger to the child such as an appendix then they would not have a choice.
