The drought in 1976. Three months of scorching weather that started and ended with torrential downpours.
I managed to sleep through the only hurricane I have ever been in.

A lightning storm in my area. I went out in the car to the coast, it was really scary. Wipers on full speed could not clear the rain from the windscreen at 5mph!
I couldn't hear my friend speaking to me in the passenger seat because of the noise of the rain on the roof of the car!
Lightening was striking everywhere, buildings and structures a few times a minute. I saw it hit a metal tower and saw it arcing all over... crazy crazy...

During the worst storms britain has seen in recent years in 1987 i happened to be in hospital in farnborough kent which is not too far from Sevenoaks(where six of the seven oaks were blown over). I remember it being quite blowy but only when i left hospital a week later did i see what i had avoided. Amazing!

I was camping in Wisconsin, sleeping in a pup tent. A tornado came through with a mile or so. All the other tents blew away. My little pup tent held its own.
You know how people say that a tornado sounds like a train going through?
It does.

Interesting..
Well, I guess you wouldn't believe hail mixed with fire? (exodus 9:13-35)
If you don't believe that i guess you won't believe the rivers of blood either?
Actually the most inspiring was benign - a weired cloud formation that look like a giant swirling vortex. It was horizontal (not vertical like your common or garden tornado) in the Sky (obviously) and appeared to be rotating - 'twas truly bizarre, but surprisingly beautiful.
