I don't fully understand your question but I'll address it from the perspective of your grandmother. Older people have a weaker immune system therefore, many benign infections become a problem that require hospital stays. Also, doctors tend to let people stay longer in the hospital if Ins. pays to just let them rest up. Life for older people is very stressful.

Islam has a thing I like, it states that good people get tested or a hardship is put on them to better them and there afterlife. You have to beleive in the afterlife to appreciate that. If you can, think of it like god makes it a little harder for your grandma in this life so her forever and ever life is better. Other than that, think of it as mother nature taking revenge.

Hospitals are filthy places. Imagine putting every sick person in a whole city in one building and having dotors & nurses going back and forth between their patients, sometimes forgetting to sanitize!

Good people don't stay in the hospital any longer than bad people.
We just miss the good people when they are absent.

2 ways to answer these damn why questions:

1) God's will
2) fate of the universe

blame evolution, idfk.
I mean she's got gangrene etc because she lacked care on some level... but "good" people die of all sorts or misfortunes everyday, with even the best care its unavoidable.

Why do people get sick and die?
Evolution, fate, God's will.

or maybe there's no purpose to it at all.

generally people go into the hospital because they become ill and need help...the older they get the sicker they become and the less able the body is to control it.

In this phase of life, good people can still be seemingly subjected to conditions that were never made in truth.
