child abuse, no.....but if the person who got her pregnant was over 18 and she's under 18....you got a surefire case of statutory rape...depending on where you live and what the laws are. We just went through this with my 17 yr old stepdaughter....she ended up getting an abortion. Ultimately it was her decision...but we had some say so in the subject. It was the wake up call she needed, now she is eager to finish school and join the military.....

good luck!

Child abuse has nothing to do with it. If you mean an actual assualt or an actual rape - that's a whole other can of worms. Press charges. However if it's just statuatory rape (18 yrs in your part of the world?) you have to think in practical terms not just revenge or punishment because TWO of them had sex - you cannot blame JUST the guy especially if he's only a little older than she is. If he's a lot older she may need counselling.

As hard as it may be to go through a pregnancy... please consider giving the baby up for adoption so that all 3 of them (daughter, the male who impregnated her, and the baby) can have a fresh start at life. There are so many couples wanting desperately to adopt a baby and give them a good life.

Somebody did that for me and I am very grateful and have had a happy life.

First of all you have to ask yourself how often did you talk to her about safe sex or better yet not having sex for certain reasons. If its been 0-10 times then the parent or parents has failed to educate this child. No child learns how to do math without understanding what math is and how to do it.The teacher repeatly teaches math until it is learn, then they go over what they have learn all through out the school year.Same with teaching the importance of safe sex or no sex at all.Its something you have to keep teaching and talking about. What action is there to take about the baby? The baby has not done a thing wrong.Action against the father? Thats a waste of time.If the parents from both the boy and girl stays out of it the father might be willing to take responsibility.Dont do nothing to the baby or the babys father that you are not gonna do to your daughter.

Your 18 yr old daughter is legally an adult. She is no longer a "child" in the eyes of the law and therefore there is no "child abuse". The decision about what to do with the baby is the 18yr old mothers and as for the father he is responsible for childsupport if nothing else. Doesnt matter if the father is 80 years old the 18year old is considered an adult and if she laid down willingly there is nothing that can be done. As for the baby its innocent and deserves nothing but love and compassion

what action is there to take? the father has already gotten her pregnant. is marriage an option? (just asking ya'll. don't get pissy. it worked for my cousin and his wife and they were happily married until he died.) keeping a father away from his child is cruel to the father and the child. not to mention that the mother could use the support of the man who got her in that condition. not to mention, he is responsible for that child and he should have some rights here. besides, what else can he do to her? your daughter can't be impregnated again right now. sit them down and ask what they plan to do about it. try to support them. stop trying to make it into a shameful thing. however it came about, it came about. that makes it god's will. and that makes it a miracle. good luck.

I live in a place where the age of consent is 16, so I'll just shift the boundaries a bit.

A lot depends on the relative ages of the two people. Was it a girlfriend / boyfriend who had an accident? Was he a predator? What is best for the future. There is no single answer.

1.take care the daughter so the baby could safely borned.

2.both the baby and the mother stay with me and kept them away from the father.

3.teach the baby to think independantly

3.after the baby turned 14, tell him/her the true story, and let him decide the best, how the relationship should be.

BECAUSE THE INNOCENT BABY IS THE VICTIM IN THIS CASE ONES ( the failured> family> community> laws) MUST RESPECT THE BABY.

how young? and was your daughter in consent of having sex with the guy??? i was barely 16 when i got pregnant and my mom tried to tell me that i was gonna get rid of it somehow and lock the father (who was 18) in jail... we didn't talk for awhile...
if you do anything, you just need to support her and don't go against what she wants to do... if you do, you will regret it as a mother.. her being "impregnated" without you knowing, was your daughter having unsafe sex. it's not like it was intentional... you need to find out what she wants to do and SUPPORT her and the baby, whether you like it or not, there's a new life comming and it's in her.. just love your child and the baby on the way

My goal would be the happiness of my daughter... so what action to take depends upon what the circumstances of the situation are, and what she wants to do.
