Aside from all of the obvious answers such as lifting weights and long toss, if it is pure distance you are looking for than try adjusting the angle that you throw the ball at. On a normal day, 45 degrees is your best bet. However this will not get the ball there the fastest, and isn't the best strategy if you are actually playing in a game. Lifting weights and long toss is the best way to get the ball back to the infield quicker and farther. But, if you are just betting your buddies who can throw a ball farther this is a sure fire way to increase your distance.

Many of the top outfielders in today's game have been clocked at over 100 miles per hour at their respected position. That being said, just because you throw 100 miles per hour does not mean that you will overpower hitters if you cannot locate and keep the hitters off balance. As previously stated, many outfielders build up a lot of momentum that is not present with pitchers making it easier to throw harder. Your question with throwing length and speed... a lot has to do with the throwing angle in which you throw at... (throwing a line drive or a rainbow) I am not the best with physics so I can't get into the whole velocity+angle = distance thing.

The best way to get more power when you throw a baseball isn't just working on your arm strength, but working on your core strength as well. Resistance exercises for your chest, stomach and back will do a lot more than just your arm; they'll also help with other aspects of the game.

Roberto Clemente was an outfielder that could throw from the right field wall to home plate on the fly. When he was a kid he strengthened his arm by squeezing a rubber ball; it made his forearm and wrist stronger.
You do not need to be a body-builder to throw the ball. The players that have the best arms are often slender in build.

It's all about mechanics. Work out your core and your legs. There's a reason pitchers have a leg kick. Work on your throwing mechanics and you'll get better and better.

a steady regimen of long-tossing, weights that work on your shoulders and your core strength. you can also try to smooth out your motion, if you have any motions that might slow down the ball
