I worked fro this comany for over two years and now they are saying things that are'nt true,to keep me from colllecting unemployment .And I found out that several fellow employees knew of my eminent layff(which I was )While at in the mean time w/o my knowledge I was training these individual(s) to replace me.to top it off I keep getting 4th party information,it is affecting my work ethic/reputation.i want to do this legally to stop them from doing this tto someone else.anything will help.sincerely broke and out of work.

sounds like a case for a lawyer...could be libel, slander...check it out...might have a law suit in the works....

The only legal basis you have based off of what you have said is if they are lying about things in order to not have your unemployment granted. If that is true you have a case, but it's not worth it to fight because you'll end up paying more in legal fees than you would end up getting in unemployment. You have to take it up with the EDD. And if it is denied, you can always apeal the decision. That's what I did when I was denied. And I won the appeal.

You can request a hearing at unemployment if you are turned down. You don't need a lawyer and either your boss or someone from HR will have to attend the hearing.
Basically, you will both tell your side of the story and unemployment will decide from there.

Have a reputable reference checking company call up and ask them for references, have them document it, and take the offenders to court for slander.
