i learned UML in university ok parts of it
and i found a great e-book on the internet

i just want to make sure

OMG is not deferent that uml or please explain

OMG is the group that is responsible for shepherding the UML specification forward. OMG stands for Object Management Group. They also are the "caretakers" of other standards, such as IDL, XMI and CORBA.

UML is just one of their standards, but perhaps the most popular these days.

If you learned UML in school, then you know that it is a type of language (with visual representations) for specifying the design of software programs.
