The Republicans have yet to prove "let's keep making war" and "stay the course" is one iota closer to a genuine "idea" of the sort they claim Democrats lack.

Cons, it's all about you. Make your best case that status quo is brilliant thinking.

Stay the course is just a slogan that the R's use. That's all the know. There has been no solid thinking or strategy on this war.

When are you R's going to realize that we don't give 2 sh*ts about the Iraqis. The US supports and is allies with all kinds of brutal regimes and dictators. You are so compassionate about the iraqis but don't give a care about your own countrymen. You're willing to spend billions for that country which has never been at peace, but if you're asked to spend the same here, you say you don't want to support lazy poor people.

The war is not wrong.

In a nut shell:

Why do you not think the people of Iraq deserve the freedom that you take for granted? 80% of the fighting in Iraq is happening in 10% of the country. If we do not help the Iraqi people establish a government, which can protect themselves, then the Iran funded regimes will take over a country which has great wealth. Thus these Islmamic extremists will be even better funded terrorists. They have interpreted the Koran to teach their childeran to destroy anyone who is not of their faith. If you do not deal with this threat now, it will not be able to be dealt with later.

Because we know leaving too soon will result in an Iraq that will degenerate into chaos, like Afghanistan did after the Soviets left. We don't want a repeat of a Taliban like regime grabbing power and aiding terrorists.

To say we will leave on X date, and then abandon Iraq if they are not ready for us to leave, is pure foolishness, which will bite us in the posterior (for you yahoo censors) in the end, when we have to deal with the consequences 5 - 15 years later.

To Nicolasraage, great answer!

You lieberals haven't learned a thing since you forced us to lose the Viet Nam war. And, that loss is admitted by the surviving Cong, who admit they felt the war was lost until Hanoi Jane started her treasonous acts, and the VC then realized if they were patient, we would leave.

The minute we give a date for withdrawal, the terrorists relax, stop serious attacks, and start planning D plus one second. It's so simple a small child can understand it. So,what's your problem.

Your total lack of military knowledge does not become Republican ignorance. Cut and Run is not a military plan.

You lost us one major war, and stuck millions of human beings in tyranny for decades. Don't do it again.

Blah blah - republican meaningless ranting. Why was the cause we went into this thing WMD's? You defended that until you turned blue, then it changed to removing the dictator and any other excuse you could think of. Now you just can't bear the idea of losing, which is the most idiotic thing considering people have died there for your moronic honor.

Well....Bush has backed off the "stay the course" bit...as he should! He finally realizes
(actually he finally admits it) whatever they are doing ...isn't working....thanks to John Warner!...LOL

But it isn't realistic to think we can just leave......we've made a mess but we now have to stay to atleast stabilize Iraq...if we don't...our problems will most certainly get worse....if not immediatly then def down the road.

Stay the course baby, not sure what it is, but the slogan works for bush to keep the sheep under control.
