After you've lived somewhere for a while you pick up the accent. Plus she lives there and her husband is a Brit. This is Madonna after all, she's always trying to change her image. Everyone knows she's not really British anyway so who cares?

Apparently living in London & being married to a Brit for some 10 years or so. Good acting - after all the Oscars are in Feb.
Same time I live in Sydney for 22 years & cannot loose my foreign accent.

She was actually born I believe in Bay City, MI, however as to how she acquired a British Accent, Once an "actress" always an actress. Why not role play real life.

It's fake. I heard part of her Oprah interview and finally got irritated and turned it off. She kept going back and forth, one thing she'd say with a British accent, then the next thing she would say would be in her regular voice. She's dumb. I know some people who live in a country for a long time develop the local accent, but hers is so obviously forced and fake.

Sometimes when you are living around people with another accent you start to pick it up yourself a little bit. It's no big deal. :-)

I think her accent comes from traveling. It isn't distinctly British.

This happened about the same time she magically converted to kaballah and acted like she was never catholic. And she wonders why people don't like her.
