I want a pay rise and my office manager is happy with my work so should the agency increase my rate?

It depends on the agency and the type of work. They take a pretty good percentage. Ask the agency for a pay rise if you think you deserve one, the worst they can do is say no and you'll be no worse off.

At the end of the day, the agency will want your rate to increase because they will earn more money that way. The agency will have to quote a new charge rate to your boss and see what he/she thinks of the offer. We charge typically 18% on the hourly rate of pay. If your boss is happy with your work, it might be worth talking to him about working permanently for the company. That was the agency will charge a one off placement fee and it will work out cheaper for your boss in the long run.

It depends on the client and the job. If it is long term ask for a raise. If the assignment is a short one lasting for a few days or for a few weeks, then no. You will increase your rate of pay once your skills improved and learn something new.
