My friend's boyfriend and I like to tease each other sometimes. He said to me, "You're so fat that you jumped and everyone thought it was a nuclear bomb." I didn't mind because I'm 5'2 and weigh 80 -something pounds. I said "You're so ugly, my great grandma was too sexy for you." He didn't care because tons of girls think he's hot.

A teacher over heard and gave us lunch detention and tomorrow we have to confrence with the principal and other teachers as if we were fighting. We told them that we were just joking but they still say it inappropraite. Are they right or is what they're doing unfair. You can be honest.

It definitley infringes on your right of freedom of speech but it is also a written law in most schools about 99 percent that you almost forfeit all of your rights in some way just by walking through the door. The main issue is people around you overhearing your conversations and becoming hurt or offended by your comments thinking they are directed towards them. Nothing in this world is ever fair, you shouldn't excpect this to be.

Oh, honey, this is hardly the only unfair thing that will happen to you in your lifetime. Speak your version quietly and confidently, and take whatever they dish out with grace and dignity. You will be the better for it, and remember not to be like that when you get to adulthood.

Don`t talk so loud. A teachers ear is better than you thought. Yes. You better learn more about behavior in school.

They have to strike a balance at school.

The problem is that when others listen in on your conversations, they can get offended and that is what is being addressed.

Perhaps you'll have to resort to a code to get your ideas across

I think that's unfair. If neither of you were taking offense to what was being said then I don't see a problem.
