I've had many PDA's. It all depends on what your looking for and how much your willing to spend. There are PDA's with GPS's built in. Or PDA's with phones built in. PDA's with cameras. Some that run Palm OS and other that run Windows Mobile. They range from about $100 to $700.
I'd suggest reading this:

And then checking out some of the models:

I do, and I will never be able to live without one. I use the PalmOne Tungsten E2. Very rugged and syncs w/ my laptop via bluetooth. No really fancy features- which is what I wanted. Calendar, Contacts, To-Do list, notepad, and a couple of games. Nice and small, light, and the battery lasts seemingly forever. If your battery does run out, your info is not lost. Just recharge and it's as good as new.

I use a Palm IIIXE ( an older model ) but I really like it, the only problem is I didn't use it for awhile and the batteries ran out and I lost all the info so I suggest syncing with you're computer often and maybe backup to paper any really info.
