I was very artistic as a child then it was stomped out and corporate world was forced in. I have owned my own businesses, multiple in multiple fields. I have been head of Human Resources for a major multi million company. I have been upper Mgt, supervisors, regional directors, etc.
And you know what I am doing now at 37? Throwing it all away to focus on just being a private, at home, independant web desinger and graphic artist. Not to grow into a biz, not to hire employees, but just to make enough to pay the bills yet to be able to fully express the art that is within.
I figure it will take me a good 5+ yrs to get this corporate image off of me and figure out who I am again, the artist, the true me.
Stay with your passion.....it will fill your life way more than any paycheck ever could.

Because you love art you should think about what kind of job you want in that category. I also love art and I am now an Interior Designer and love it.I also make a decent amount of money. You might what to start smaller than that. But what ever suits you that is what you should do.

That depends how you want to live your life.
If you would be happier doing something you live full-time yet struggling to pay bills, buy groceries etc then go fo art. Keep in mind, you won;t have the free money to spend on art classes/supplies/marketing your products/networking.
If you want to live comfortably and have money to spend on pusuing your artistic dreams, get a job that will pay for your bills first and formost.
I;m sure you could get a job that also incorporates your artistic passion, perhaps web design or advertising..........there are a world of options for you.

I am going to school for graphic design and if you are good and get with a good firm you can bring home a ton of money easily (it will take a lot of work but it will be worth it) there are so many art careers besides fine art that pay just fine.

You can always become an art teacher or professor or work for a museum, gallery, newspaper, the options are endless. There are plenty of art jobs to fall back on if being an "artist" doesn't work.
