Clever tongue-in-cheek question, to make a point. Too bad some of your answerers weren't smart enough to realize that's what it was.

Some Americans are willing to sacrifice their liberties and rights and freedom for a little safety. As Benjamin Franklin said, they deserve neither.

But George W. Bush has already abolished the Constitution, at least most of it.

Warrantless Phone Taps... So much for the right to Privacy (Phone taps are only legal, or were, with the approval of the courts, now Bush has usurped that authority).

Secret prisons and legalized torture, even for American citizens (Bush illegally secured the authority to do that with the "Military Commissions Act.")

And so much more. We should be so glad that our founding fathers were brilliant enough to write a Constitution that could not be brought down by one man, try as he might. The courts that provide checks and balances (Bush just hates those, and the "activist judges" that keep him in line).

God save America!

I think congress already did...

HR 418 WAIVER OF LAWS NECESSARY FOR IMPROVEMENT OF BARRIERS AT BORDERS.
Section 102(c) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (8 U.S.C. 1103 note) is amended to read as follows:

`(c) Waiver-

`(1) IN GENERAL- Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall have the authority to waive, and shall waive, all laws such Secretary, in such Secretary's sole discretion, determines necessary to ensure expeditious construction of the barriers and roads under this section.

`(2) NO JUDICIAL REVIEW- Notwithstanding any other provision of law (statutory or nonstatutory), no court shall have jurisdiction--

`(A) to hear any cause or claim arising from any action undertaken, or any decision made, by the Secretary of Homeland Security pursuant to paragraph (1); or

`(B) to order compensatory, declaratory, injunctive, equitable, or any other relief for damage alleged to arise from any such action or decision.'.

Oh, I think the current administration and congress would rather amend it to death or ignore it completely. And Haliburton is building a camp just for you.

I think a better idea would be to give it to Iraq. It was written by a bunch of really smart guys, it worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it any more.

I'd take complaints like this more seriously if you'd cease with the Chicken Little exaggerations.
