I'am planning on moving there soon can anyone please give me some information on the best areas to live and schools. And how is yuma? Is there alot of gangs and all? Is it safe to rasie kids? I'll be moving with six kids, is there low income apts and homes? And hows the walfare out there? Can I get help until I find a job?

I live in Tempe, AZ. I know that Yuma is kinda isolated from the city (Phx) and it's pretty small and not much to do. I couldn't imagine it being easy to find a job decent enough to support 6 kids. Moving closer to the city would make it easier, it's a beautiful place to live, don't let the heat fool you...I've lived in Cuba,Miami,and California, and I LOVE it here!! Good luck :)

I was born there but lived in Ca most of my life here are some tips:
it hot in the summer VERY HOT so I hope you like the heat.
don't move to yuma there is nothing there and it hotter
best place to live is tempe or mesa
as for crime live every city it on the rise I think they just caught the guy that was shoot or raping girl at random
housing is still good and cheap
don't know about the job market
If you have never lived in the desert before it will be something new and not something you are going to adjust to over night. As for me I like AZ my birth place and I love to go up northern AZ to Sedona it amazing site to see. Good luck.

Hey I live in Yuma. There are gangs but I don't live in that area so i'm not sure. I know that there are alot of low income apts (just don't know which are good and which are bad) but I don't know anything about welfare, either. Rolle is a good school.

Yuma is basically a retirement area. Welfare? If that is your plan, we would just as soon you not choose Arizona. It is being inudated with welfare recipients already.
Go to www.azstarnet.com and check out the jobs listing in the local newspaper for Tucson. It's a nice city.

I don't live in Arizona but you need to be more concerned about jobs rather than the welfare system.That was the dumbest thing to ask about.Why don't you try to get a job before you move so you don't have to live off welfare.
