It is the most important single telescope in history.

Hubble has given us images not possible from earth because it is outside the distorting atmospere and away from pollution.

It's images reveal with quality the deepest zones of space, which lets us explore the origin of the universe (light has only recently reached us from the most distant galaxies, and others are still not in view)

Its importance to Astronomy and space science is astounding; it has also spilled over into other areas, inciting revolutionary technology.

Its importance to us is immesurable!

the ice age thing... we are expected to have the globe tip to a point where one side of the earth (north-south) is facing the sun and one is not. that is expected to have on side go into an ice age. around 2012 i think.it's between 2010 and 2015, that's all i know. not only that but we should have a solar eclipse around the same time. the tax thing... all i can say is, if obama wants to be a good president, taxes shouldn't be so high. plus, it saves some trees. global warming... if everyone was like my grandmother (the one on the Asian side), global warming Temperature would be super high. don't use so much electricity, 'cause that's a cause of global warming. but remember, it only goes up 1 or 2 temperatures each year. chill. but still, do recycle and don't use much electricity.

It hasn't yet. It is still in orbit. It'll make a nice impact when its orbit decays and it comes back down to Earth.
