It is a great condemnation on modern education that out of eight answers there are only two that are correct.

1 U.S. Gallon of water = 8.337 pounds
1 Imperial Gallon of water = 10 pounds

The old saying is the pints a pound the world around. There are 2 pints per quart and 4 qarts in a gallon. That makes 8 pounds for the weight of a gallon of water.

8.33 is very pure water; most would agree on 8.35 LBS. That's the best reason for understanding the metric system. Density calculations are a lot easier.
BTW, oil and gas run about 6 to 7 LBS per Gallon
