Dress like a prep. You know, like a skirt, a matching blouse, some high heels, a cute purse, and a wig to make you look like you have long hair, and some make-up. This will only work if you have a female friend that has really good fashion sense and can help you with the make-up. You could maybe switch the skirt for tight capris. But if you do that, you should probably switch the heels for flip-flops. If you go with the skirt, I would suggest the skirt being kind of short, a couple inches above your knees, and not too frilly, the best color would probably be eggshell white. For your blouse, a little more on the dressy side, so more of a solid color. Blue or green jewel tones go really well sometimes orange, I guess for Halloween. The purse to match should probably be a little short, not too big, and your friend will have to help you with the color of it, it kind of depends on your look to be honest. She'll know best. And your friend will also know the best color for the heels. For the capris, if you go that way, best would be a khaki or off-white color. And for the flip-flops, either white, or whatever color your blouse is. Finally, you're wig should match your hair color. If you want to put in any certain way, have your friend help.

You can vamp this up or down and modify as needed
Last year I saw on the Martha Stewart show how they made a witches costume from black garbage bags and duct tape.
you need the drawstring bags. one they cut a slit in the area under the drawstrings so it was a bit longer and they cut ,in a zig zag, the bottom part of the bag off, that part is used for another part of the costume.
this one is for the top half of the costume. It is put on like a tube top with the drawstrings as the shoulder straps. pull and tie to fit.
don't worry about the strings coz they get covered later.
then another bag is cut to be the skirt, zig zag like the first and that is tied around the waist. Duct tape as much as needed to keep the top and bottom together.

they also cut a third bag in half to be the sleeves...they used duct tape to hold things in place. Just tape the sleves to the top.
the cut off parts are used to make the cape and they pulled on the zig zag points to stretch them.(also did on skirt)
It was pretty cool and waterproof but you may need scissors to cut the costume off when done.
I hope I explained enough for you to figure out how to do it.
a half dozen bags and tape are cheap especially if you already have them around

where you cut the zig zag depends on your size.
the sleeves bag is cut down the sides so one half the drawstring can be each sleve gather at the neck...
cut and fit the dress to size.
just add a hat and your good to go.

I always used to do the "sexy witch" costume. It's a witch costume, but with no long pointy nose or green face, and bulk up the boobs if you're small up top. Short tight black dress and cape, with pointy hat. Lots of mascara, do the "big eyes" look with the eyeliner, black or blue or green lipstick, and lots of shimmery dusting powder all over, including the decolletage.
Or, of course you could be "sexy cop", "Cleopatra" is easy and sexy, too.

From a guy point of view, those are all good costumes. The old fashioned Wonder Women (yes that really shows my age) or Catwomen are also good.

I was once a hulagirl. Wear a short little dress and one of those fake hula skirts and some lays. Or you could be a 50's girl, that's very cute.

How about a sexy or pretty fairy, like the ones in the pictures on the internet. Think of that punk rock store, Hot Topic.

I think all female costumes are slutty....they should change the holidays name to "dress-like-a-slut day"!
