There are all correct, but 1 and 2 would be considered slang and 3 is more formal.

Any of those would make an awkward sentence. Better would be..

"As a young woman, she waited for a wonderful man to come along."

2 would be best but you should word it differently anyway.

In her youth, she waited for a wonderful man to come along.

There are other ways to write this sentence but I do not like when people are correcting someones grammar and they change the entire sentence. You need to keep the essence of the original sentence or the true author is lost.

None of them are incorrect, it depends on the situation.

"Turn Up" suggests it will happen.
"Come Along" suggests it might happen.
"Appear" suggests there will be something sudden or magical about it if it happens.

Hope this helps.

PS "following" is a word that acts as a plural without an "S" on the end.

(2) or (1) are OK, but (2) is best.
(3) is totally wrong.

"Turn up" sounds a little awkward or funny in this use, but you could use it.
"appear" refers to sight or vision, and is totally wrong in this case.
