I recently viewed the movie and found it slow, but it did follow the book pretty well. What are your thoughts?

I haven't read the book, and I'm thinking that maybe I will now.

I found the film curiously unaffecting. I had the same problem with it that I have with a number of war movies: I didn't feel a strong enough connection with any of the main characters to care deeply about what was happening to them.

I heard that Japanese atrocities were glossed over or omitted, and that a good deal of the movie focuses on racism encountered by a Native American soldier.

Nearly every movie has a liberal agenda and Hollywood can't figure out why box office receipts are plunging...

That had to be the most boring movie ever...i was like"END GOD DAMMIT!!!" i just left like 20 mins early cuz that movie was DRY as hell......wasted 7 bucks :(
