Midterm refers to point the houses elections fall at the half way point during a presidents term...hence "mid" and "term" for presidents term.
Only way to get a president out of office is to impeach him. You might wonder why more aren't for this option when we have caught Bush in so mush. Well next in line is the Vice President, Cheney. He would be a far worse person to be in that position of power for the next 2 years.
And to do a double impeachment .....well that has never happened in American history. Problem is if we remove Bush, Cheney is in, if we remove Cheney, then another of Bush's boys is in, and so on and so on.
Like cutting the head off a worm.....it just keeps going.

Let me understand you. You have absolutely no knowledge at all of how our government works, term sizes, etc, but you really think you are smarter at this than the President? Hee, hee.
Let me say again, you lieberals need to stop bashing the Republicans and come up with real ideas and plans. "Bush is bad" is not a platform!
Clinton had 8 years to deal with terrorists, after the first attack on the World Trade Centers by terrorists, and did -- exactly nothing.
Around 8 months after taking office, Bush had a terrorist attack on this nation, and took action. As a result, there has been no more terrorist attacks on this nation.
If it weren't for the human suffering, I'd wish the lieberals take over, so we can get a city nuked by the terrorists, while the lieberals sit around, saying, "Why can't we just get along?" Then, there will be no more lieberals elected during the rest of my life.

Why do we have midterm elections.... well.... look at the terms for a member of the house or senate - 2 and 6 years respectively.... this means that the entire house and 1/3 of the senate is up for election every two years. that means that we have to have an election every two years, even if the presidential election is only once every four years....

It creates the hype that there ought to be a transformation in ability interior the presidency. despite the fact that, individuals ought to understand that midterm elections are significant in working the rustic. If a majority of voters vote for the time of midterms, the potential for a majority in congress(which might enable congress pass any regulation) is fairly severe

To elect 1/3 of our Senators and the entire House of Representatives (they only serve a two year term).
Possible but not probable.

We have them because every member of the House of Representatives has a two-year term, and every senator has a six-year term, so holding elections every four years won't work, mathematically. Also many governorships are decided during these "off" years.
It's not possible to get him out sooner, except by impeaching him.

Because Congressional terms don't align with the Presidential election...
Perhaps if the Democrats take office they might impeach Bush, but honestly, for two years I don't think it's worthwhile...
