I agree with you. People who make those kinds of comments are not real baseball fans. They probably aren't even sports fans in general. It is what it is, the greatest game in the world and if it rains, it rains!!! Just play it another day!!

Well, think about it. The NFL has received huge success always keeping the field "neutral." In addition, the FIFA World Cup also has a big draw because the Nations choose the neutral field to play in...even if it means that the host country will automatically qualify. Having a neutral park would only mount excitement I think. The MLB, NHL, and NBA should seriously look into that. It just makes it great for everyone else who is a baseball, hockey, or basketball fan.

No way. It isn't just about tradition. It is about supporting your team all year, through ups and downs and then being rewarded with the electric atmosphere that surrounds the World Series. It is about putting your team and your town in the spotlight. It is worth millions to the local economy and it is priceless to loyal fans who get to go. (Don't get me started on the celebs who sit in the good seats and could not care less about the game.)

If a team hosts a playoff game, it's guaranteed a sellout with higher priced tickets. Teams should be rewarded with this attendance for getting to the WS. You shouldn't force the championship to be decided on some field with fake grass just because it has a roof. Besides, if my team gets to the WS shouldn't I, as a fan be able to see it. I don't think that Cardinal fans, for instance, should be prevented from seeing THEIR team play.

If you played it @ a neutral park the true fans would miss the game in person. Also the A's wouldn't have home field advantage. Gooooo Tigers.

You'll have to rip this bat from my two dead hands before you play the World Series in a "neutral" park.
