There are many difference between Republicans and Democrats. Here are a few of the differences I can come up with;

1. Republicans Tell The Truth wile Democrats Do Not Keep Their Promises.

2. Republicans are Team Players (like the players of the 1974 Oakland Athletics who won the 1972-1974 World Series) while Democrats do not work together as a team.

3. Republicans believe that the US Military needs to be fully equipted while Democrats do not believe that the military should get too much funding.

4. Republicans believe that Americans deserve tax relief while Democrats want to raise your taxes not matter what you status of class is in America.

The Republicans and Democrats are two distinct political parties, but their stances on issues have evolved over time.

For instance, back during the pre-Civil War era, the Republicans supported emancipation and the Democrats, most of whom were Southern, supported slavery. Around FDR and the New Deal, the Democrats began to gain the support of minorities again.

In general (in theory, anyway), Republicans support a limited role of government when it comes to domestic/social programs, and they believe tax cuts and giving people the chance to independently make money is best for the economy. They also like to spend government money on military/defense stuff. They often take a conservative viewpoint on hot-button issues.

Democrats usually encourage government spending on social programs( Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc.), support a liberal viewpoint on hot-button issues, and they don't tend to go for tax cuts as much. They in general feel the government has a responsiblity to improve the quality of life in the country directly, rather than the trickle-down economic theory.

Dems want a balanced budget.
Reps want to spend like crazy and put everything on the credit card.

Dems want a distributed tax system.
Reps want to cut taxes on the wealthy, and bill the middle class and/or elderly for it later (when they are out of office).

Dems represent the American people. They fight big business on issues like the environment and labor.
Reps represent business. They fight for big business and represent them to minimize their labor cost for regular workers and maximize their profits, particularly for the executive board.

Dems want to look good in the international community, and be proud to be Americans.
Reps want to piss off the international community and tell the world its "our way or the highway".

Dems want a free America, with the protection of the constitution.
Reps want to rewrite the constitution to strip away basic freedom and maximize government control.

Dems want freedom of religion, freedom of individuals, the opportunity for gays and minorities to live without prejudice and harassment.
Reps want to have freedom to discriminate, and put Christianity into law. They wish to rule from the bible, and outlaw or censor anything they deem "unethical" from a religious point of view.

Dems want to tell the American people how it is.
Reps lie to the American people, trying to spin things to make them think and feel about certain issues in certain ways.

Dems believe in a society where anyone and everyone has the opportunity to work & achieve success.
Reps talk about equal opportunity for all, but really they want a two class society and resist and oppose any efforts to help people from lower classes achieve success in life. This is why our president is the son of a president, its what they believe is best.

Dems are for the betterment of America and what America is supposed to mean.
Reps are selfish and evil.

Its simply unbelievable that any educated person could not understand or see the differences, when they are so many and so obvious! The parties could not be further apart on more issues than they are!!

Nowadays, who the hell knows.

The Republican Party I joined decades ago has changed so radically.
It used to be that Republicans were for LESS government intrusion into our private lives.
Now we've got Republicans wanting to inject religion and morality into our personal affairs.
They don't want homosexuals to have rights.
They try to prevent abortions, yet are very supportive of the death penalty, yet they won't let us die in dignity (as in the Terri Schiavo case).

And Democrats...well, it used to be that those people would get us into wars and raise taxes.

My oh my how times have changed!

Its just an "Us Against Them" scenario created so that you have to choose one of them and you don't have a legitmate third (or fourth or fifth) option. One says they're for this, the other says they're for that. Are we at war with Eastasia or Eurasia? Who knows. They're the same thing with different names.

Nothing too much really.

Republicans are muscle.
Believe in small government, large military and defense, and hand-UPS.

Democrats are heart.
Believe in a larger government, less military and defense, and tend to do more hand-outs.

Basically.
