You are not alone. Acne is such a common problem though it can cause untold misery. Many people cannot understand that it's not just a physical condition, it also affects how you feel about yourself.

My son has had acne for some time now. He has tried creams, lotions, potions, B vitamins and antibiotics.

The antibiotics he tried were very powerful but he had to take them for 3 months before there was any improvement.
They worked really well and his skin became clear. However, like you say, when he stopped it all came back.

He thought about taking them again but knew he would have to take them for a very long time and as they were so powerful he didn't want to do this.

I heard on a programme last week that Dermatologists are now trying out Brewers Yeast tablets with some success. They are not sure how they work on some people but are pleased with some of the results they have seen.

You can buy brewers Yeast tablets from chemists or health food stores. I would say they are definitely worth a try...my son is going to try these now.

Good luck....hope things improve for you.

It didn't work for me. All Proactiv did was make my skin red and itchy. I found out that the cleansers at Whole Foods are much better because it's much more gentle and it doesn't have alcohol or any of those other bad ingredients in them. What I use right now is from Collective Wellbeing. It's the oatmeal raspberry cleanser with my aloe vera toner from earth science. For spot treatments I just use a cotton swab and dab a little bit of tea tree oil on the blemish. I had mild acne before but now my skin is all clear :) Hope I helped.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Proactive is the best thing out there for acne. My daughter had severe acne and used Proactive for about 3 months. It's been about 4 years since then and she's had absolutely no sign of acne since then. Try it!!! Good luck!

I did until I started using Proactive. I hesitated to buy it because it is expensive, but a little goes a long way and it is worth every penny! My acne is gone, my skin tone is better and I am very happy with the results.

Depends on your age. If you're going through puberty, odds are, no medication is going to be able to ward off that pesky acne. If you're an older individual, your dermatologist has given you the best suggestions, but you may need to try different meds from him. The first one doesn't always fit.
